Kristin + Jack: Intentional, Memorable Chicago Wedding

Our Kirsten coordinated Kristin + Jack’s sunny day in July 2021 in Chicago’s iconic Lincoln Park. Her words are below, coupled with stunning images by Hannah Persson Photo. Congrats, Kristin + Jack!

When I first met Kristin and Jack, I knew they were the couple who would know how to throw a party — heck they met while they both were working at a local brewery. What really stood out to me while working with them was how intentional they were while planning their day. From incorporating their Scottish heritage and having a bagpiper lead them out of their ceremony, to having a picture of their dog Radley on the cocktail hour napkins, to providing all their guests miniature bottles of Jameson and toasting to Jack’s late father, I knew it was going to be so special, and also one heck of a party.

The day started off with both Kristin and Jack getting ready at The Hoxton. Kristin was with her mom, sister, and cousin and of course, her pup Radley was in attendance to see his mom get all gussied up. The Lueur Beauti team was there to provide gorgeous hair and makeup services for the ladies.

Kristin had the sweetest first look with her dad and, because family is so important to the couple, she video called her grandmother who was unable to travel to Chicago.

While the ladies were getting ready, Jack was getting spiffed up with his guys, and they got to take advantage of the extremely pleasant July afternoon.

Next, it was time to head to the Honeycomb for the ceremony. Kristin and Jack opted not to do a first look and I am so glad they didn't. When Kristin walked down the aisle with her father, both Kristin & Jack were grinning ear to ear. Their dear friend officiated the ceremony and the Chicago skyline created the best backdrop. To many of the guests’ surprise, the couple exited the Honeycomb with a bagpiper leading the way.

After the ceremony, it was time to hop around town and get those sunny “just married” photos with a special last stop at Goose Island Taproom — where they worked together. It was only fitting that they asked a close friend to bring Radley for a few photos.

Time for the party! Kristin + Jack hosted their reception at City Hall Events in Chicago’s West Loop. The couple entered the space with the sounds of their family friend playing the accordion. Cocktail hour and dinner were catered by Boka Restaurant Group. Kristin’s sister, Kara, gave a heartfelt toast while Jack’s brother gave a meaningful one with a little brotherly competition at the end. As you can see, the groom triumphed!

The night ended with a packed dance floor courtesy of The Hemispheres.

Congratulations Kristin + Jack!
