Cat + Tim: Joyful & Bright Chicago Summer Wedding
Cat + Tim’s July wedding was so, so dreamy. The couple and the mother of the groom dove deeeeep into designing a bright, colorful event that was still formal and chic as heck. There was a joyful energy in the air all day, even as it poured rain in the morning and forced changes to their first look and wedding party photos. By the time they arrived at St. Clement to wed, the sun peeked out, and we were able to host their cocktail hour outside on the Chicago History Museum’s gorgeous terrace. Cat + Tim have been together since high school, so it truly was a special day full of fun, laughter, and tender moments.
Cheers, you two! Xo Olivia

The bride started her day at her childhood home with a gaggle of gals from all stages of her life. Cat stepped into her stunning gown with help from her mom, sister, and BFF and then headed downstairs to see her wedding party. It was SUCH a fun moment and they NAILED bridesmaid gown vision! The gals loaded up a trolley in the rain so Cat could go see her groom.
The wedding parties and photographers arrived at Union Station for Cat + Tim’s first look where they also exchanged private vows. Cat’s face truly says it all!!!
We took advantage of the gorgeous Union Station for wedding party and couple portraits - a perfect place to stay dry and an awesome weather backup. (One more round of applause for the bridesmaid coordination?!)
The sun finally peeked out, just in time for the couple’s arrival at St. Clement! Their family pups and FOB were waiting for them in the sunshine.
St. Clement is maybe one of my favorite Catholic churches in Chicago. It is right in the heart of Lincoln Park and is just stunning. The steps in front are perfect for a ceremony exit!
Finally it was time for Cocktail Hour, Cat + Tim’s favorite hour. They are big cocktail makers, so it was really important that we highlighted that shared love. Food for Thought set up this custom drink wall to serve their guests one of the signature cocktails!
The design of this wedding was SO special and unique and all of the elements were highlighted in the reception space - the deep fushchia, light blue, and lavender combo, the lush colorful floral palette and personalized napkins and stationery - truly MAGICAL.
As guests were being seated inside, the couple snuck out for some golden hour photos and the bride swapped her veil for a chic neck scarf.
Cat + Tim’s reception was chock full of laughter, sweet dances, great food, and a packed dance floor. It was a beautiful kick-off to this couple’s marriage.
Cheers to Cat + Tim!
