Sara + Rob: Meaningful, Cozy, and just-plain-happy Chicago Wedding

Sara + Rob are the absolute best. They are the kind of people who acknowledge everyone in the room and make sure everyone around them is happy and comfortable. They are incredibly close with their families and have tight friendships. They have been through the ringer over the last few years, but they are grounded in who they are, what and who they love, and in their relationship with each other. They got married on a cold, crisp January day in 2020, and celebrated first at St. Alphonsus Church, and moved to Galleria Marchetti for a fabulous evening of food, candlelight, and dancing. I shed a few tears during their ceremony, and even more during speeches, and it was an absolute pleasure to be part of their wedding. It is such a joy to share these images with you. Congratulations to The Sheehans!

Sara’s day began surrounded by her friends and family while Beauty by Ann Krause started primping the ladies.

Sara headed upstairs to get dressed in her beautiful long-sleeve gown by Pronovias. She also had some sweet details, like a ring from her dad and a beautiful card from her soon-to-be husband.

This Papa / Daughter First Look was one of my favorite moments of the day.

The rest of the ladies caught a glimpse of Sara in her suite, and the cutest little flower girl and ring bearer peeked in.

At this point in a wedding day, couples are always eager to see each other, and a stillness takes over. Sara hopped in an Uber with her dad to meet up with her beau for their beautiful first look.

We took turns bringing out the wedding party since it was a typical January day in Chicago (freezing!), but the colors of the bridesmaid dresses and florals from Flowers for Dreams absolutely popped.

We had just enough time for a few solo shots of the beautiful bride, Sara.

The trolley headed up to St. Alphonsus for their moving ceremony. A few snippets below.

After the couple said “I do!” they were whisked off to Galleria Marchetti in Chicago’s West Loop for a stunning reception of candlelight. Galleria Marchetti has a lovely pergola that has a permanent clear tent that can be used all year long (even in the icy winds of January!).

Dinner was served by Galleria Marchetti, and music was by the very fun Wedding Banned. S + R entered the beautiful space and went right into their dreamy first dance.

The reception was just plain HAPPY. The speeches were kind and so meaningful, and the dance floor was never empty. What an incredible day celebrating these two!
