Jen + Jesse: Chic, Coordinated, Fun Chicago Wedding

Wow, what a trip down memory lane. I worked with Jen + Jesse during COVID to plan their May 2021 wedding and they were a dream: calm, flexible, and just plain happy to get married. They chose the glorious Morgan’s on Fulton for it’s rooftop, just in time for the venue to install a fabulous glass enclosure that could be opened / closed as needed. We were the first wedding in the new space — what a joy to see it all come together! Due to COVID restrictions, they chose to welcome their guests to the rooftop for their ceremony, with each guest finding their dining seat to watch to ceremony. They had spectacular floral, delicious food, and such a loving group of people surrounding them. Although it’s been over a year and a half since their wedding, I look back on it fondly — this was, and is, a couple worth celebrating.

The day started with Jen and her gals getting ready at the Ace Hotel (now the Emily Hotel), just down the block from the venue. The bride’s hair stylist, Kylie Rhew, was on-site to glam up all the ladies. Jen opted for a chic pony to complement her Sarah Seven gown.

While the ladies were finishing up, I met with the groom on the rooftop of the hotel for a quick boutonnière pin on his fabulous custom plum suit from Enzo Custom. We waited a few minutes before his bride (and their pup!) met him for their first look.

After a few more photos around the West Loop, the couple traveled to the venue for their intimate ceremony on the MoF rooftop, flanked by fabulous floral pieces by the talented Willrett Flower Co.

Their reception was one for the books. Food for Thought catered a fabulous dinner and their friend Colin kept the party going ‘til 2 AM.

Congratulations, Jen + Jesse!
