Lauren + Peter: Reimagined, Intimate, Daytime Chicago Wedding

When COVID hit, Lauren + Peter quickly reimagined their wedding day.  They already had The Joinery booked and were planning a June 2020 wedding, but as time went on and COVID lingered, they decided to move their date to fall 2021 and get creative with the typical wedding routine. They got married by a friend before traveling to Chicago to celebrate and hosted a weekend full of events.  The weekend culminated with a Sunday daytime event with a limited guest count, opting for speeches on the patio, lunch served by Big Delicious Planet on feasting tables in the middle of the room, and a fun floral workshop led by Brian of Fleur.  It was a picturesque September day full of sunshine and warm breezes, and although it wasn’t the couple’s original vision, it was beautiful and just so relaxed.

Huge congratulations to the Brodys! - Olivia

The couple started the day together and with their families at Peter’s parents’ home in Evanston  and the bride did her own hair and makeup.  What a relaxing start to the day!

They got dressed and headed out with Alisha for some portraits as the rest of the family made their way to the Joinery that was nearly set-up.

Guests were greeted at the Joinery with a dreamy table set-up by Fleur, yummy appetizers from Big Delicious Planet and the doors to The Joinery’s patio swung wide open to invite in the sunshine and warm air.  The couple procured their own wine and alcohol from Vinic Wine, a local Evanston wine shop, and champagne was generously served in crisp coupes.

Family members gave brief speeches on the patio, and Brian led a floral workshop where guests could take home their masterpieces.

The couple rounded out the afternoon with a joyful cake cutting and sent guests on their way after a celebratory weekend with their hearts and bellies full.

Congrats to the Brodys!
