Annie + Matt are rays of pure sunshine not only for each other, but everyone they meet. When they came to me looking for the perfect indoor/outdoor late summer wedding space and vibe, I knew immediately it was going to be such a fun day already. A+M met at work (at the company they still work at!) and have since spent their time on the west coast frequenting cool cocktail bars and traveling the world. As New Yorkers, they were excited to make their wedding day dreams come true in Chicago, whose summers are the sweetest, and make a return to Annie’s home state.

We found the perfect marrying of everything they wanted in The Ivy Room, and built a big, bright, beautiful world for them with nods to Annie’s Indian culture, personal touches galore, and a rocking band that brought us all the way to the end of the night, sealed with a champagne and Lou Malnati’s kiss (could you want anything more?). We had the best time planning each moment via Zoom and when they could pop into town. Everything came together in such a fun way!

Congratulations, A+M! Your day was one filled with such laughter and light!

We kicked off our day at the ever so chic getting ready suite at The Gwen, where Annie chatted with her gals during glam by the always incredible AW Bridal Artistry. Matt was a couple of floors down, putting on the finishing touches to his look with his friends, and prepped to see his bride at their sweet first look!

A+M’s details were some of my favorites - even the vow book fit the colorful and playful vibe we were going for! Tim Tab, the master of creating stunning photo set ups, captured them beautifully in all their intricate and vibrant glory. A moment for the shoes, please?!

Annie, her dad, her gals, and Matt had giddy and giggly first looks all around. Can you just hear the excitement? It was vibrating in the space - we were so excited for the day to unfold!

The incredible vendor team and I made the decision to pull out our rain plan - something we never want to do but always anticipate just in case - and move A+M’s ceremony and cocktail hour indoors. Luckily, The Ivy Room is stunning in every corner and has an incredible team, so alongside our floral/decor folks from Flower Firm, we seamlessly transitioned the set up to inside the main ballroom.

Annie stunned in her Kleinfeld Bridal gown walking down the aisle. Their ceremony had sweet and silly moments from both of these lovebirds, and in the end, it was a perfect ceremony that beat the rain by minutes!

Married!

While folks enjoyed cocktail hour in the chic lower level lounge, we flipped the ceremony area into a dreamy and dazzling dinner party for all their friends and family.

A peek behind the curtain: here are a couple pieces of the design board I created for Annie + Matt’s day before we even started talking to vendors! A color-infused garden-esque design that was fun and fresh!

The reception kicked off with an intro by the amazing Sarlas Music band, followed by speeches from friends and family, as well as a kiss of cake courtesy of ECBG Cake Studio that was topped with Annie’s parent’s cake topper from their own wedding - so sweet in so many ways!

The dance floor was packed immediately following special dances, and stayed packed all night! Annie + Matt were able to sneak out for some private champagne and cheers in the glittering Ivy Room courtyard before their afterparty continued in the lounge. These are some of my favorite photos from the day - the joy of a perfect wedding and a perfect couple is just unmatched!
