Danielle + Michael: Chic, Amorous, Lush Backyard Wedding

Danielle + Michael had a stunningggg backyard wedding in June and Noelle was really in her design element (and she and the bride became besties!). We are so excited to share this fabulous wedding with you. Noelle’s words below paired with Jenna Greenawalt’s dreamy images… enjoy!

2022 was truly the year of the backyard wedding, and we loved coordinating every moment of D + M’s incredible party on Danielle’s family property. Good people, good food, and good spirits: all it really takes to put together an incredible evening. For this one we had all that and more, with some showers and a sophisticated edge to it too.

Danielle + Michael had a true vision for their day, and it all started off with getting ready at D’s grandmother’s home, just minutes away from their venue: Danielle’s family home. Bebe, as she is affectionately called by their family, kindly opened her home to Danielle’s bridal party of 14 women to spend the rainy June morning chatting, popping champagne, and getting their hair and makeup expertly done by Pin Me Up Chicago and Bomber Betty.

Jenna Greenawalt snapped stunning photos of Danielle’s details, including her Loeffler Randall platform shoes and her gorgeous Viero Bridal gown before her mom Laurie and Maid of Honor Shawn helped her put the final touches on her look in her grandmother’s bedroom. Fleur stopped by to give us the most gorgeous garden style blooms and bouquets to top off some sweet moments of getting ready with this group.

Once it was finally time for D + M’s first look, the rain stopped and the sun was shining - like we planned it that way all along. The two shared a quiet moment together, snapping photos, Michael looking sharp in his Black Tux tuxedo, before their families and bridal party joined them for a few rounds of photos - all so filled with joy for these two!

Of course Pepper got in on the fun!

The ceremony and reception were held at Danielle’s family home, one that when you came upon it truly looked and felt like it was meant to be a wedding venue all along. The ceremony was held on the elevated grassy knoll beside their house. Parkwest Strings played guests in as they took their seats, greeted by glasses of champagne and lemonade from the amazing Hearty Boys catering team.

While some showers came and went throughout the ceremony, written by the lovely Kelly from Liz Rae & Co., Danielle + Michael laughed and cried through raindrops and vows as their friends and family looked on.

With a holler and cheer from all who attended, we began cocktail hour in the backyard, surrounded by lounge spaces and delicious appetizers, a signature cocktail inspired by Pepper, Danielle + Michael’s pup, and details galore.

The reception was held in a spacious sailcloth tent set on top of the home’s tennis court - a perfect spot for a chic party that would go until 2 AM. The florals had pops of poppy red and classic ivory, the perfect midsummer palette. Once again the details were impeccable, showcasing the lush and clean aesthetic that any summer bride looking for a Euro garden party vibe would run to.

Marjorie from Toast and Jam - our amazing DJ for the night - announced the couple who made a truly grand entrance, before cutting their strawberry adorned cake and sharing a first dance that made us all swoon.

Dinner was served and speeches were made, each one so perfectly capturing this couple’s story and truly showing just how much everyone in the room loved them so.

This. dance. floor! Kicking off the next level of celebration with dances with their parent’s, some sweet treats, and a whole lot of fun, D +M had a crowd that really showed us how fun weddings can be.

Congratulations, Danielle + Michael!
